New York, NY-Think you know Harter ? It's time to take another look!
Two years ago, Harter embarked on an intensive commitment, focusing the full resources of our company on researching the evolving work-life universe. In collaboration with leading architects and consultant Janine James of The Moderns, we confirmed that today's businesses are structuring their operations to reflect a new cell-phone and laptop culture that empowers people to work virtually anywhere-at home, on the road, in an amazing variety of decentralized settings. To help designers and their clients find creative solutions to the challenges of this ever-changing work-life universe, Harter has changed, too. We are proud to introduce the brand-new Harter , geared to the way people work (and the way you design!) today.
Inspired by our classic, modern roots-the clean-lined, functional furniture that placed Harter at the forefront of office design in the 50s, 60s, and 70s-we invited top product designers Timothy deFiebre, George Simons and Jonas Damon to reinterpret the best of these timeless classics, using new technology and materials adapted to the diverse, multifunctional work-life universe of today.
Around these updated pieces, Harter has built a comprehensive collection of five new product families, emphasizing solutions-based design for the multitude of places where people work today. These versatile categories include Action (task seating and executive chairs), Side ("seating for meeting"), Relax ( lounge, airport, and waiting room seating), Train (stackers and conference chairs), and Surfaces (tables, both freestanding and attached). Each piece in the new collection is designed with clean, modern lines to live happily with every other Harter product, giving designers and their clients an unprecedented range of choices for creative, problem-solving work environments.
To make solutions-based design even easier--and the universe of possibilities almost infinite--Harter also offers a new, comprehensive, fresh-as-tomorrow materials palette, meticulously edited by Janine James for problem-free function and great style. In all, there are 28 thermoplastic finishes, seven frame finishes, nine wood finishes, eight colored glass surfaces, seven linoleum choices, nine laminates, and six edge details from which to choose. James has carefully curated our exquisite new line of Harter Fabrics to ensure beautiful choices at every price point. In addition, Harter maintains exceptional card programs with design-forward fabric and leather partners including Unika Vaev, Textus, Spinneybeck, and Momentum.
To get the word out, we're celebrating our new Harter brand image with all-new photography and graphics, including a stunning new brochure, binder, and finish cards. Come have a look. Seeing is believing--and we know you're going to love what you see!
Since 1927, customers have looked to Harter for long-lasting, high quality products and individualized service without parallel. Now at the forefront of solutions-based design,
the new Harter partners with designers and their clients to develop creative work-life interiors, using classic modern forms and a fresh palette of materials, colors, textiles, and surfaces. At today's new Harter , we believe that great design solutions start with two basic ideas: "Product choice facilitates function. Material selection creates mood."
